Breast Thermography

Thermal Scans are SAFE and PAIN FREE. They can detect irregular breast patterns up to 8-10 YEARS before a noticeable lump is formed. In fact, Thermography can be especially effective in detecting inflammatory breast cancer, in which there are no lumps that can be detected by self exam or mammography.

With Breast Thermography, it is important to have two scan series done within a 3 month period of time, to establish a baseline for each person. Because active cancers double in size and heat approximately every 90 days, changes from the initial breast scan to the second will alert your doctor to request additional tests. If heat patterns remain unchanged, annual Thermal Scans are the recommendation. All future imaging studies are then compared to the baseline scans.

By adding Thermal Scans to your annual exams and breast health screenings, you can improve your chances for early detection by 97%. All women can benefit, but it is especially useful for younger women (age 30-50) whose denser more vascular breast tissue makes it more difficult for mammography to be effective. With one in eight women being diagnosed, it’s never too early to start breast cancer prevention. Early detection can save lives!

Thermography is non-invasive, which makes it a perfect option for women with breast implants, post surgical changes, and mastectomies.

Fibrocystic Breasts: Significant vascular activity in the left breast was clinically correlated with fibrocystic changes taking place.

DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ): Vascular asymmetry in the upper left breast was suspicious and clinical investigation indicated a palpable mass. Biopsy confirmed a DCIS of 2cm.

Inflammatory Breast Cancer: This cancer cannot be detected by mammography, because it is not a “lump” cancer. Prior to this Thermal Scan, there were no signs of abnormality.
